Free Admission to Legoland and Sea Life Aquarium : Keebler Kids Marathon Mile

Part of the 2009 Carlsbad Marathon Race Weekend, the Keebler Kids Marathon Mile returns to Legoland California on Saturday, January 24, 2009. Every registered child who participates in the Keebler Kids Marathon Mile will receive several prizes, including a free 1-Day Park Hopper Child Admission to Legoland California and Sea Life Aquarium at Legoland.
The Keebler Kids Marathon Mile is a fun one-mile run/walk which loops through Legoland California. (Note: The rides and attractions at Legoland California will not be open during the Marathon). Participants are grouped by age in this family-friendly, non-competitive event, with the first set of racers scheduled to start at 8:00 am.
Although geared for children aged 12 and younger, this non-competitive event is open to people of all ages. “Moms, dads and siblings are all welcome,” said Lynn Flanagan, Race Director and President of In Motion, Inc. “It’s a healthy activity that a family can do together. The children love the opportunity to dash through Legoland.”
Held during the Carlsbad Marathon Race Weekend, the Keebler Kids Marathon Mile will also feature a diaper dash for babies who still travel on all fours and a free family expo with entertainment and fun activities. The Carlsbad Marathon and Half Marathon are scheduled for Sunday, January 25, 2009.
Every registered child who participates in the Keebler Kids Marathon Mile is considered a winner and will receive a gold medal. In addition, entrants will receive a T-shirt, a coupon for one free 1-Day Park Hopper Child Admission to Legoland California and Sea Life Aquarium at Legoland (valid on either Saturday, January 24, 2009 or Sunday, January 25, 2009 only), one free Ultra Star Cinemas Child Admission movie ticket and coupon for free popcorn, as well as a goodie bag full of Keebler treats and coupons.
The registration fee for the Keebler Kids Marathon Mile is $15.00 per entry on or before Saturday, January 17, 2009 and $20.00 thereafter, up to and including Race Day (registration on Race Day will be on a first come, first served basis, space permitting). Event Day registration starts at 7:00 am. Adults have the option of registering at full price ($15.00 on or before Saturday, January 17, 2009; $20.00 after January 17, 2009). Adults who register at full price will receive an event T-shirt and be treated to refreshments, fun activities, entertainment and more. Only children under the age of 12 receive the additional “goodies”, such as free admission to Legoland California and Sea Life Aquarium and free movie ticket to Ultra Star Cinemas.
Adults may also register as a Companion (Child + Companion Fee: $20.00 on or before Saturday, January 17, 2009; $30.00 after January 17, 2009). Adults who register as a Companion will be allowed access to Legoland during the Marathon, but will not receive a T-shirt or other prizes. Only one Companion is permitted per Child Registrant; additional Adults must register at the regular Registration Rate.

Purchase a Keebler or Cheez-It cookies or crackers product from Albertsons and save $3.00 per entry (maximum of two) Simply attach the product’s UPC bar code and Albertsons receipt as proof of purchase to your registration form to receive the discount. The offer is not valid with online registration.
Raise Money for Your School -
In addition to being a family-friendly event, the Keebler Kids Marathon Mile raises funds for area schools through its Run for Your School Program – if there are at least ten entries from a particular school, the entrants from that school automatically become members of a school team and the school will receive $2.00 for each paid entry.
There are several ways to register for the Keebler Kids Marathon Mile: online via the Marathon website; by mail, using the downloadable Registration Form (also available on the website); in person on Race Day; or in person at the Pre-Registration Event.
The Pre-Registration Event will take place from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Westfield Plaza Camino Real Shopping Center (2525 El Camino Real, Carlsbad, CA, 92008 – lower level, center court) on Saturday, January 17, 2009. It is your opportunity to pre-register for the Keebler Kids Marathon Mile, or to pick up bib numbers and T-shirts before event day crowds. Ernie the Keebler Elf will be on hand with some of his favorite Keebler snacks.
