Hoping to catch a movie this week? Here is a list of new movies opening in San Diego on Friday, November 7, 2008:
Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa - All of the loveable characters are back in this highly anticipated sequel to the 2005 animated comedy Madagascar. In Madagascar 2, Alex, Marty, Melman, Gloria, King Julien, Maurice, the Penguins and Chimps find themselves in the wildest place of all - the vast plains of Africa, where the zoo-raised crew encounter species of their own kind for the very first time. While discovering their roots, they quickly discover the differences between the concrete jungle and the heart of Africa. Africa seems like a great place…but is it better than their Central Park home? Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, David Schwimmer, Jada Pinkett Smith, Sacha Baron Cohen, Cedric the Entertainer, Andy Richter and the late Bernie Mac lend their vocal talents to this animated comedy.
Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa - The IMAX Experience - Digitally re-mastered into the unparalleled image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience through proprietary IMAX DMR technology - your kids will love it in IMAX!
Role Models - Wheeler (Scott) and Danny (Rudd) are two salesmen who trash a company truck on an energy drink-fueled bender. Upon their arrest, the court gives them a choice: do hard time or spend 150 hours with a mentorship program. After one day with the kids, however, jail doesn’t look half bad. If they can just make it through probation without getting thrown in jail, the world’s worst role models will prove that, sometimes, it takes a village idiot to raise a child. This comedy stars Seann William Scott, Paud Rudd and Jane Lynch.
Soul Men - Soul Men is the hilarious story of Louis (Samuel L. Jackson) and Floyd (the late Bernie Mac), a popular singing duo back in the day, who went their separate ways and never spoke again. When the death of their former group leader (John Legend) reunites them and sends them driving cross country for a tribute concert at the legendary Apollo Theatre, they will have only five days to bury the hatchet on a twenty-year-old grudge. Samuel L. Jackson, the late Bernie Mac, Sharon Leal, Jennifer Coolidge, John Legend and Sean Hayes star in this road trip comedy.
