Balboa Park : San Diego Zoo – Summer Schedule of Events
July 10th, 2007
Trying to plan your visit to the San Diego Zoo? Nighttime Zoo, San Diego Zoo’s summer celebration, takes place from June 23 to September 3, 2007, with extended Zoo hours – 9:00 am to 8:00 pm (guests may stay on the Zoo grounds until 9:00 pm) – and extended Zoo entertainment. Celebrate the summer at the San Diego Zoo at the Zoo’s Fiesta De Las Caras, a Spanish fiesta-style celebration (included with Zoo admission).
Here’s a summary of the events taking place at the Fiesta De Las Caras at the San Diego Zoo this summer (events and times subject to change; please check with the Zoo for the most current information):
Front Plaza:
- Zookeeper Willie assists with planning your evening visit, organizes hula-hoop contests, and launches the nightly macaw fly-over. He is available to answer your questions from 4–8 p.m. daily.
- Group Serenta: bamboo flutes, hand percussion, electronic guitars, and wind instruments entertain you with music ranging from Latin pop, rock, and jazz to traditional music from Mexico, Central and South America, and the Caribbean. Shows are at 4, 5, 6, and 7 p.m. daily.
- Splash – Faces of the Wild (Caras Silvestres): a jaw-dropping unique entertainment experience where nature comes to life on canvas with an extraordinary combination of movement, music, and live interaction. Shows are at 5, 6, 7, and 8 p.m. daily.
