Incumbent Australia edged out South Africa on Wednesday in a crushing match in St. Lucia to claim their spot in the World Cup Finals. They will be facing Sri Lanka, who emerged victorious in a match against New Zealand on Tuesday.
Saturday’s final match marks Australia’s fourth successive World Cup Final and the defending champions will be seeking an unprecedented third consecutive World Cup Champion title.

The Bridal Fashion Shows start at 11:30 am, 1:00 pm and 2:45 pm and are included in the ticket price. Tickets to the Bridal Bazaar Bridal Show are $10.00 at the door. Aaaarrhhhh Maties – it’s time to put yer best Pirate foot (or peg leg) forward and audition for the chance to be a Legoland Pirate.
Legoland California is currently casting male and female actors to play fun and comical pirates for the 2007 summer season. If selected, you will also have the opportunity to perform in one of two pirate-themed live stage shows.
Preliminary auditions are scheduled by appointment only and are being held April 26-28 and May 3-5, 2007 beginning at 5:00pm, with call backs scheduled for May 6, 2007.
You will be asked to perform a one minute monologue that is comical and geared for children as part of your audition. You should also use your monologue as an opportunity to demonstrate your best pirate voice/accent. You should also bring a current head shot, resume and list of dates you cannot work between mid-May and September 2, 2007.
Applicants must be available to work mid-May to early September with no scheduled vacations. Shift times vary, but average 7 hours a day, with approximately 5 20-minute shows each day. Compensation is $15.00 per hour.

The 4th Annual San Diego International Children’s Film Festival makes its way to the Museum of Photographic Arts in Balboa Park later this month. The Festival will showcase full-length and short films from around the world made for children and teens, including live action, animation and documentaries. Two exciting workshops are also being offered in conjunction with the Film Festival – one on Animation and the second on How to Make a Movie.
The films have been clustered together into Programs that run roughly one hour in length, with each program created to appeal to various age groups (for example, films for the young‘uns will be shown earlier in the day). As an added bonus, Festival dates have been selected to coincide with larger events taking place in and around Balboa Park, including Earth Day (Sunday, April 22, 2007) and Cinco de Mayo (Saturday, May 5, 2007).
The San Diego International Children’s Film Festival takes place on April 22 and 29, and May 5, 2007 at the Museum of Photographic Arts in Balboa Park. Tickets may be purchased online and are priced as follows: single program tickets - $5.00; workshops - $10.00 each; Day Passes (films only) - $20.00 on April 22 & May 5, and $15.00 on April 29. An All-Events Super Pass is also available for $50.00 and includes access to all three days of films and workshops. Children 3 and under are free.

The sunsets are free and they’re spectacular.
The winds died down late yesterday afternoon, just in time for the locals (and Spring Break tourists!) to head over to the beach to enjoy the last few rays of sunshine and catch the sunset. We were not disappointed!

Celebrating it’s 10th year, the 2007 Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon will be held on June 3, 2007 starting from the west end of Balboa Park.
The Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon turns the traditional marathon experience on its ear. With live bands, cheerleaders and themed water stations along the race course to entertain the nearly 20,000 participants, this marathon is a truly entertaining event. Add to that a two-day free Health Expo preceding the marathon, a post race Headliner Concert and a mid-week appreciation baseball game at Petco Park and you’ve found yourself at THE event of the year for participants, volunteers and spectators alike.
