Balboa Park : Annie Leibovitz Exhibit at the San Diego Museum of Art

The San Diego Museum of Art will be hosting a major nationally touring exhibition featuring approximately 200 photographs by one of the most celebrated photographers of our time, Annie Leibovitz.
Perhaps best known for her photographs of public figures such as a pregnant Demi Moore, Mikhail Baryshnikovand Rob Besserer, George W. Bush with members of his Cabinet, Nicole Kidman, and recently baby Suri Cruise (daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes), Annie Leibovitz has left her mark on America’s top magazines including Rolling Stone, Vanity Fair and Vogue and has managed to capture some of the most powerful images in contemporary American pop culture.
Leibovitz has also made a splash in the world of advertising with her campaigns for American Express, Gap, Givenchy, The Sopranos and the Milk Board. The scope of her work extends beyond pop culture and includes moving coverage of the siege in Sarajevo in the early 1990s; a series of landscapes taken in the American West and Jordanian desert; and touching photographs from her personal life.
Annie Leibovitz: A Photographer’s Life, 1990-2005 gives us a unique look at Leibovitz’ professional and personal photographs taken over a span of 15 years. This exhibition showcases the exceptional talent of this influential photographer.
Annie Leibovitz: A Photographer’s Life, 1990-2005 will be on exhibit at the San Diego Museum of Art from February 10–April 22, 2007. Admission to the museum is $10.00 for adults; $8.00 for Seniors (65+) and Military; $7.00 for College Students with valid ID; $4.00 for Youths (ages 6 -17) and free for children 5 and under.
