Cover Your Ears, the MCAS Miramar Air Show is Back!
October 10th, 2006
The one and only Miramar Air Show will be dazzling the skies of San Diego on October 13-15, 2006 from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm. There will also be a special twilight air show on Saturday, October 14th at 5:30 pm.
The annual Miramar Air Show and Open House is a chance for the public to visit an operating Air Station, explore more than 100 military and civilian display aircraft, experience the thrill of being in a cockpit in a simulation ride and browse through a variety of vendor booths. And of course, there’s the Air Show…
The year’s theme is: The Sound of Freedom: Celebrating the Blue Angels 60th Anniversary. The world famous US Navy Jet Demonstration Squadron, the Blue Angels, will be joined by aircraft from all branches of Marine Corps service, in both static and active roles. You will have the opportunity to see both military performers (AV-8B Harrier, F-16 Falcon, MV-22 Osprey, F-22 Raptor and the US Army Golden Knights Parachute Team) and civilian performers (Bill Reesman’s MiG-17F, John Collver’s AT-6 Texan “War Dog” and Shockley’s “Shockwave” Jet Truck), in a gala celebration. Visitors to the Miramar Air Show will also have the opportunity to see a thrilling Marine Air-Ground Task Force demonstration take place over around and right in front of them.
The MCAS Miramar Air Show is open to the public. Admission, parking and blanket seating at the Air Show are free. Upgraded seating is available, including grandstands, box seats and a fully catered chalet seating.
